An international network studying The Circulation of Dutch Literature

Internationaal CODL-congres over de verspreiding en receptie van Nederlandstalige literatuur in de Koninklijke Bibliotheek

Na conferenties in Rome (2013) en Boedapest (2014) wordt van 28 tot en met 30 mei 2015 de derde conferentie van het NWO-project Circulation of Dutch  Literature (CODL) gehouden in Den Haag, waar de Koninklijke Bibliotheek de deelnemers gastvrijheid zal verlenen. Ongeveer 65 sprekers uit 15 landen bespreken hier hun onderzoek naar en ervaring met de verspreiding en receptie van Nederlandstalige literatuur in nationaal en internationaal verband. Speciale gasten zijn prof. Deborah Cartmell  (Leicester), prof. Reine Meylaerts (Leuven), prof. Frits van Oostrom (Utrecht), prof. Ann Rigney (Utrecht), prof. Nico Wilterdink (Amsterdam) en de schrijfster Joke van Leeuwen. Een afzonderlijk panel is gewijd aan bemiddelende instanties, met een literair agent en vertegenwoordigers van het Expertisecentrum Literair Vertalen, de Nederlandse Taalunie, het Nederlands Letterenfonds en het Vlaams Fonds voor de Letteren. In een tweede panel worden verwante internationale projecten gepresenteerd. Het congres ziet daarmee niet alleen om naar de resultaten die het CODL-project inmiddels heeft geboekt, maar richt de blik ook op samenwerkingsmogelijkheden in de toekomst. International CODL Conference on the Dissemination and Reception of Dutch/Flemish Literature – National Library of The Netherlands, The Hague

Following successful conferences in Rome (2013) and Budapest (2014), the NWO-funded Circulation of Dutch Literature (CODL) project will hold its third conference from 28 to 30 May 2015 inThe Hague, Netherlands. The conference will be hosted at the National Library of the Netherlands (Koninklijke Bibliotheek) in The Hague. 65 participants from 15 counties will present papers describing the results of their research on the dissemination and reception of Dutch/Flemish literature in national and international contexts. Distinguished guest speakers are Professor Deborah Cartmell  (Leicester), Professor Reine Meylaerts (Leuven), Professor Frits van Oostrom (Utrecht), Professor Ann Rigney (Utrecht), Professor Nico Wilterdink (Amsterdam) and the author Joke van Leeuwen. A separate panel will be devoted to the role of mediators and will include a literary agent and representatives from the Expertise Centre for Literary Translation (Expertisecentrum Literair Vertalen), the Dutch Language Union (Nederlandse Taalunie), the Dutch Foundation for Literature (Nederlands Letterenfonds) and the Flemish Literature Fund (Vlaams Fonds voor de Letteren).  In a second panel, current international projects similar to CODL will be presented. The conference thus both looks back at the research results generated by the CODL project and sets its sights on future opportunities for collaborative research.
